Hello my friend.
Can we be friends? I guess I need to tell you a little about me first and THEN we can be friends. Hello, my name is Kelli, it’s nice to meet you. I am a wife and a mom, raising two warrior women who are now only 9 and 16. And I gotta tell ya, that job can be tough sometimes. I’m not perfect. I don’t have it all figured out, but I really want to share with you what I have learned along the way. I have a few goals in life. I want to be the best mom and grandmom (someday) I can possibly be and I want to point others towards Jesus through a healthy, holistic lifestyle. I will share recipes and write a lot about food. I like food. I like food a lot. I will write about our home. I love my house and my fam and could probably, if given the choice, just be a hermit. I mean… you can order anything online now. My groceries from whole foods get delivered, amazon always hooks me up and I just discovered Daily Harvest meals. What more could one want. I will write about essential oils because I am an addict, and they make me feel good… really REALLY good. I will write on faith and then maybe a little of this and that thrown in. Welcome to my life. This is really just a story about what I do in hopes that it may help you get where you want to go… a step further to feeling the best you have ever felt and being the happiest you have ever been.
If you want to know more about me, well, here is a story about how I got so “crunchy.” I was never really into natural or healthy. Honestly, healthy to me was being skinny and trying to burn as many calories as I possibly could so I could eat a 39 cent Hot N Now hamburger and fries. I didn’t know anything about fruits and vegetables except that everyone tried to make me eat them growing up. I hated Brussel sprouts. They made me want to puke. I remember my mom forcing me, not allowing me to get up from the table until I got them down. I just held my nose and pretended I was eating a cheeseburger just to keep them from coming back up. She wasn’t mean. She just loved me and wanted me to eat my veggies. I love my momma. I had really bad eating habits. I loved fast food. When I was young, I was an athlete so you couldn’t really see it externally. I burned it all off. But as I got older, I got a McDonalds booty and ended up with hypertension while pregnant with my first child.
Unfortunately I passed this down to my kiddo and got her “lovin” it too. I know that my eating habits most likely caused her to struggle with eczema starting off her life. She came out of the womb with some not so smooth skin. By the time she was 2 she was diagnosed with asthma and we went down that train until she was 12. I FINALLY decided to be my own advocate and do my own research instead of just blindly trusting others. I found out that the food we were eating was not helping out situation at all. It didn’t take long, but as soon as our family started a “clean eating” and holistic healthy lifestyle, the game was CHANGED. I packed her lunches and we didn’t eat out. We built new habits and it was hard, but the delayed gratification was AMAZING. The only time we have to deal with these bouts of eczema is when we have let crap back into our diet that should not be there.
Today, our family eats as clean as possible and we have eliminated toxic products from our home. We have used Young Living, an essential oil company, to replace our personal care products, our cleaning products, and even some of our food! All of these things are a safer solution. Again we are not perfect. We are still learning! But I will tell you, I seriously feel 10 years younger. That is the truth. AK is the reason why we started this healthy journey but to be honest, I was a tired over weight, unhealthy momma who was very unhappy with where I was physically. This lifestyle change, helped me too. So here’s the deal. If you are overweight, tired, need more energy, some direction on where to go, I hope this blog helps you get started. I want you to feel as great as I do. Because the deal is, our good good father gave us everything we ever needed to feel GOOD. You have a plan and a purpose for your life. You have a mark to leave on this world and I want you to be able to do just that, with energy, vigor vitality and CONFIDENCE. You are special, loved and adored.
